Overview
With more than 500 years history, the Universidad de Alcala, founded in 1499 by Cardenal Cisneros, is one of the oldest in Europe.
The old city of Alcala, 45 minutes by train from Spain’s capital Madrid, forms a spectacular backdrop for the study experience in this student town; with its cobblestone streets and classic European architecture, the old city is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The program is open to all students regardless of their level of Spanish. Students will have their level of Spanish assessed on arrival in Alcala in order to be placed in a class appropriate to your level of language.
Over the course of a month, students will take 80 hours of Grammar, Vocabulary, Conversation and Phonetics. Students get access to all of the University’s facilities – libraries, computers etc.
You will be assessed through exams, assignments and practical exercises and will receive a final ‘mark’.
The course has enough contact hours to generally count as one full credit, semester- long unit back in Australia.
One of the highlights of the program is the accommodation. Students will be accommodated in homestay, giving them a chance to practice their Spanish in day-to-day situations. Most meals are also arranged as part of the homestay, giving students a chance to really experience life in a Spanish household!

Overview
Speaking a second language is brilliant for your CV as well as giving you the ability to more deeply integrate with a foreign culture. German is one of the classic languages and is the key to getting around central Europe – the language is either the main, secondary or an important language in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Denmark and Poland.
Munich, the capital city of Bavaria, is the third largest city of Germany and a great place to visit to either learn or improve your German. Munich is very close to Austria, Switzerland and after a short hop through Austria, also Italy making it a good base for your travels (photos featured above are of both Munich and Berlin).
Language classes run every day (at various levels, suited to your ability) and you will have ample opportunity to explore the city and the rest of Europe on weekends and in your spare time. Intensive French Language

Overview
Studying a language in-country is always the best, fastest and most enjoyable way to pick up a language or to improve your level.
Vichy, also known as “The Queen of the Water Towns”, is famous around the world for its thermal spas and cosmetic products that have attracted royalties and celebrities for over 200 years.
Located in Auvergne, a beautiful French region, famous for its volcanoes, parks, lakes and rivers, Vichy has plenty of sightseeing and many activities to offer: shows, concerts, horse races and water sports on the lake to name just a few.
With classes taught at 15 different levels, this French program based in Vichy, France is for anyone with an interest in French and the French culture. Taught by Cavilam (reputed for its training of French language teachers) in partnership with Clermont-Ferrand universities, this is a top language program.
Classes include 26 sessions of 45 minutes weekly:
• 18 courses in groups of corresponding level
• 8 courses in theme workshops
Workshops are based on varied themes, depending on what your needs and interests are.
You’ll also have plenty of opportunity to take part in various field trips and cultural activities such as trekking up the Puy-de-Dome, wine tasting, visiting Lyon and Clermont-Ferrand, discovering the surrounding lakes and castles and many more.
