Semesters or year abroad

If you’d like to study overseas for a semester or a year, but your university doesn’t have an exchange program that suits you, contact us and we’ll try to find you the perfect option.

  1. Getting Credit

  2. AIM Overseas works closely with many Australian universities and when you apply for a program, AIM Overseas is able to provide you advice and support in seeking credit in Australia for your overseas program.

  3. Many of our students obtain credit towards their Australian degree, or other qualification, for the program they take overseas.

  4. The possibility of getting credit towards a university degree varies depending on a student’s personal circumstances, the program they select and their degree. Contact AIM Overseas to discuss your personal case.

  5. Applying for funding

  6. Travel Grants

  7. Many of the Australian universities offer travel scholarships/grants to their students to help them undertake international study experiences.

  8. AIM Overseas can usually provide information about available grants but you should also check your university website and pop in your international office to find out what grants your university offer, what are the conditions and eligibility criteria and fill out an application form.

  9. OS-HELP

  10. OS-HELP is the Australian Government’s overseas study loan scheme. Eligible students are able to borrow up to $5410 to use towards the cost of their program and expenses. To be eligible for OS-HELP a student must be:

  11. An Australian citizen and a commonwealth supported student enrolled in an undergraduate course of study. You need to have at least a full semester worth of subjects to complete at the end of your overseas program, and your overseas program needs to be credited towards your Australian degree. Visit the OS-HELP website  for more details.

  12. Your university is responsible for assessing your eligibility for OS-HELP and allocating you the funding.

Degree abroad

If you already hold an undergraduate degree in Australia and are thinking of adding a postgraduate degree to your qualifications, you might want to give it an edge by doing it overseas. Contact us to discuss your options.
