AIM Overseas is Australia’s leading provider of international study experiences for university-level students. Since 2007 we have worked with exceptional institutions like the University of Oxford, Michigan State University, Maastricht University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University to send more than 1200 Australian students on intensive short courses. These students have come from over 25 of Australia’s 39 universities, a firm endorsement of the esteem in which AIM Overseas is held by Australian universities.
We are a dynamic, forward-thinking organisation committed to helping Australians study overseas. Our focus is on delivering academic programs and opportunities that are the highest possible quality, whilst providing the best possible service and experiences to students and partners.
We can work with you to establish a unique program that capitalises on your institution’s area/s of expertise, whilst meeting the needs of Australian students. Our student groups, which are typically 15-20 students in size, are strictly controlled to ensure participants meet a sufficient academic level prior to the program and that participants understand the demands that an intensive course will place on them.
Hear What Australian Universities Say About AIM Overseas
AIM Overseas provides overseas study opportunities to Australian students by setting up short programs in conjunction with overseas universities; or (less commonly) by selecting existing overseas short programs and promoting them to Australian students on behalf of an overseas university.
We seek to work with universities that can deliver high-quality short courses, taught in their disciplines of excellence, whilst providing exceptional pre- and on-program support. We look to work with the best possible institution for a particular discipline – we’re less concerned if the location of an institution isn’t well known (i.e. you don’t have to be located in London or New York, or other ‘popular’ places) as long as the destination is relevant to the program.
Overseas programs must meet the following criteria:
- Interactive programs, taught in English, with dynamic lecturers
- Over 3 to 4 weeks
- In July or January-February
- Assessment included
- Transcript or official academic record provided after successful completion
- Accommodation provided
The programs themselves have to include the following:
- A minimum of 36 class contact hours
- Visits to relevant organisations
- Field trips and cultural activities

‘Working with AIM Overseas to organize short and intensive programmes here in Maastricht, the Netherlands is an absolute pleasure. We have been very impressed with the whole team right from the start: just a few months after initial contact we had a large group of extremely motivated and dedicated students following classes at the Center for European Studies at Maastricht University and traveling with us across the Netherlands and Belgium.
One of the reasons things go so smoothly when working with AIM Overseas is that their proactive team gives upmost importance to great communication. Everyone at AIM Overseas is very professional and efficient. We also greatly value the way AIM Overseas interact with students in order to prepare them for their experience across the world: their explanatory videos, interactive webinar sessions and extensive assistance services really mean the students can start their trip as well-prepared as they will ever be.
On top of this, AIM Overseas provides us with a streamlined access to the Australian market, reaching countless universities across the country and selecting the best students amongst them all.
All in all, AIM Overseas is a great partner to work with and we would recommend the experience to anyone!’
Jorg de Vette, Director of CES, Maastricht University, The Netherlands
‘We have been working with AIM Overseas since 2007 and have run six different programs with them. The management as well as the staff deserve nothing but praise for their excellent work: They are extremely professional and hardworking, while at the same time never losing their relaxed and friendly approach; they are 100% reliable, yet flexible and easy going when it comes to solving problems. It’s really pleasant to work with them! Last but not least, the students they sent overseas — or at least to Brno — have been great too!’
Martin Glogar, Coordinator for Project Support, Masaryk University, Czech Republic
‘It was a real pleasure to work closely with AIM Overseas staff in the design and implementation of the AIM Overseas Biodiversity of Peru short term program. My extensive emails were always met with prompt, thorough, and friendly responses and the amount of care, thought, and effort that AIM Overseas has dedicated toward putting together the best program possible for their students is exceptional. USIL looks forward to our continued partnership, and mutual growth, with AIM Overseas! Thanks, AIM Overseas Team!’
Keith Annis, Institutional Relations Coordinator, Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola, Peru
